Ecology and World Systems

Ecology and Society, (formerly the Journal of Conservation Ecology) An online, peer-reviewed journal, including many articles with a broad systems view. Many papers are essentially industrial ecology from the ecologist's perspective, filling a major gap in IE itself. Edited by C. S. Holling, noted systems ecologist who was director of International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.http://www.ecologyandsociety.org/

International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis
Includes reports on industrial metabolism studies of the Rhine River Basin and long-term analysis of alternative energy scenarios. (Austria)

Industrial Ecology

The Journal of Industrial Ecology has a web site with complete contents and abstracts, selected articles that can be downlaoded, forums, and reviews. http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/journal.asp?ref=1088-1980&site=1
Subscribers have electronic access to the full journal and can subscribe electronically only.
A second site at Yale, where the Journal is edited, is another valuable source of information on industrial ecology.

The International Society for Industrial Ecology offers membership, international conferences, and other activities promoting industrial ecology  www.is4ie.org

The Center for Industrial Ecology at Yale University's School of Forestry & Environmental Studies brings together Yale and external researchers whose interests include: the theoretical basis of industrial ecology, the cycles of materials, technological change and the environment, eco-industrial urban development, industrial symbiosis, and product and producer policy issues.

The Smart Communities Network has been a dormant site since 2005 but contains some useful resources: http://www.smartcommunities.ncat.org/

Sustainble community, industrial ecology, and eco-industrial park information, including articles and bibliographies. Maintained by the Department of Energy.
