incompetence, greed, and ignorance

growing wealth at the top and poverty at the bottom

assaults upon our basic life support systems

climate change (hurricanes, typhoons, flooding, and drought)

rapid loss of biodiversity (widespread species extinction)

immensely wasteful consumption of natural resources

rural to urban migration and massive expansion of slums

the continuing toxic illusion that violence can end violence.

Can we respond at the level of this crisis?

Can we learn fast enough

to act with awareness, wisdom,
                        and  compassion?  

Can we continue the evolution
                     of life becoming conscious
                                     through our minds and hearts?

Can we learn together?

                         Can we respond
                                    at the level of the crisis?
